The Japanese routine in 6 steps
Wash, decontaminate, polish, protect, glass and wheels: each step with the right product, from the gentle QJUTSU clay to Fusso Coat and Glaco. Choose by paint colour and by how long you want it to last.
The Japanese wash starts with a shampoo that already carries wax, applied directly on the three-layer sponge, with the grit-guard bucket keeping the sand. Brushes for what the sponge cannot reach.
Low-foaming shampoo with a high wax content: washes and adds gloss in one step and reinforces the protection already on the paint. Light for light paint and Dark for dark paint, with a corrugated sponge included.

Japanese method: the shampoo goes directly on the sponge, not in the bucket.
Three-layer Japanese sponge for detailers: the top layer absorbs the shampoo, the middle makes dense foam and the bottom lets no liquid out, only foam through the pores.
Before polishing or protecting, the paint must be clean to the touch: tar and sap with Pitch Cleaner, bugs and droppings with Stain Cleaner, bonded particles with the gentle QJUTSU clay, chrome with Chrome Cleaner.
Gentle clay bar compatible with waxes and coatings: removes what hand washing cannot (metal particles, bonded residue) with just water and shampoo as a lubricant.
The house speciality since 1957: paste waxes for every type of paint, from the 12-month Fusso Coat to the pure carnauba of Authentic, liquid waxes and sprays to maintain the protection between applications.
Glaco is the glass coating Soft99 invented in 1991: drops fly off the windscreen with the wind from 45 km/h. Prepare the glass with the compound, choose the Glaco by duration and maintain with De Cleaner.
Tyres with a wet, satin or factory-matte look, in spray, liquid or hard wax; wheels that do not hold brake dust; and the Pitaspo applicators to keep your hands clean.
Plastics, screens, leather and fabrics with the interior cleaners; headlights, exterior plastics and rubber with the restoration coatings; and the interior brushes for the details.
Tell us the paint colour, how long the protection should last and whether you want to treat the glass. We suggest the right protection, prep and maintenance, with store prices.
Dark on waxes with two versions: enhances the depth of dark colours.
Fusso Coat 12 Months gives a year of fluoropolymer protection; Rain Drop at every wash keeps the barrier up and Ultra Glaco matches it on the glass with the same 12 months.
Soft99 thinks of protection in layers: a wax or coating that lasts for months and a quick maintenance at every wash that reinforces it. The car is always protected and the heavy work happens once or twice a year.
Wash when needed · Rain Drop every wash · Fusso Coat and Ultra Glaco once a yearRecommended routine: maintain every wash, renew when the duration runs out
Kiwami shampoo applied on the QJUTSU sponge, not in the bucket, and the grit-guard bucket trapping the sand. The shampoo already carries wax and reinforces the protection on the paint; Wash Mist takes care of the interior at the end.
Maintain at every wash
Rain Drop sprayed on the wet car, rinsed and dried: paint, glass, plastics and wheels hydrophobic in minutes. On glass, Glaco De Cleaner cleans and boosts the Glaco; on tyres, 4-X gives the wet look in seconds.
Renew when it runs out
Fusso Coat 12 Months and Ultra Glaco once a year; Glaco DX every 4 months, Kiwami every 3, Black Black every 2. Before renewing, decontaminate with Pitch Cleaner and clay and, if the paint needs it, polish in three steps.
Ask for a tailored plan: we tell you product, interval and quantity per car for your fleet, dealership or workshop.Indicative manufacturer durations in normal conditions; climate, washes and outdoor parking shorten them.
Why Soft99
Seventy years making waxes in Japan
Since 1954 in Osaka
Founded in 1954 as Nitto Chemical, it launched the first Soft99 wax in 1957 and is today SOFT99 Corporation, listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, with partners in 33 European countries.
Made in Japan, JIS tested
All chemicals are made at the Sanda factory, with R&D on site, and tested to Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS): adhesion, salt water and UV.
Fusso and Glaco: the inventions
Fusso Coat (1990) brought fluoropolymers to car wax and gives 12 months of protection; Glaco (1991) is the glass coating that makes raindrops fly off from 45 km/h.

Tell us how many cars you treat per month and the average size. We estimate the usage of shampoo, Rain Drop, Fusso Coat, Glaco and tyre dressing and how many packs to order per year. Indicative values: we adjust them in the quote.
Basis per mid-size car: 30 ml of Kiwami shampoo, 20 ml of Rain Drop, 25 ml of 4-X on the tyres, 15 ml of Wash Mist; Fusso Coat 12 Months ≈ 10 g per application (a 200 g tin does ≈ 20 cars) and Glaco DX ≈ 10 ml per windscreen and side windows (once per car, not per wash). Indicative averages, not official manufacturer data.
What detailers and shops ask us most often about Fusso Coat, Glaco, waxes by paint colour and the routine.
Fusso Coat 12 Months: Light or Dark?
By paint colour: Light for whites, silvers, light greys and light colours; Dark for blacks, dark blues and reds and dark colours. Both share the same fluoropolymer formula and the same 12 months; only the enhancing pigments change. When in doubt, Light is the most universal.
Does Fusso Coat really last 12 months?
That is the manufacturer’s stated duration in normal conditions, comparable to a professional coating, thanks to the PTFE layer that repels water and oil. Frequent washes with harsh detergents, outdoor parking and poorly decontaminated paint shorten it; Rain Drop at every wash extends it.
Paste wax or liquid?
Paste wax (Fusso Coat 12 Months, Kiwami, King of Gloss, Authentic) lasts longer and gives more depth; it needs decontaminated paint and a little more time. Liquid (Fusso Coat F7, up to 7 months) and sprays (Rain Drop, Luxury Gloss, Fusso Speed & Barrier) go on in minutes and are for maintenance or when time is short.
Which Glaco should I choose?
Ultra Glaco for maximum duration (12 months, fluoropolymers); Glaco DX for the easiest application with a 5-minute cure and 4 months; Roll On Large for the strongest water repellency; Glaco Q when you want to clean and protect in one step; W-Jet to top up in 3 seconds at the petrol station; Blave for headlights, visors and plastics; Mirror Coat Zero for mirrors and cameras.
How do I prepare the glass for Glaco?
The glass must be free of road film, limescale and old coatings: Glaco Glass Compound Roll On (built-in felt) or Glass Compound Z (sponge), rinse and dry. Then apply the Glaco, let it cure for the stated time and buff with a microfibre. To maintain, Glaco De Cleaner at every wash.
What is the Japanese way of washing?
The shampoo goes directly on the sponge, not in the bucket: Kiwami has little foam and lots of wax, so it washes and adds gloss in one step and reinforces the protection already on the paint. The three-layer QJUTSU sponge only lets foam out and the grit-guard bucket traps the sand at the bottom.
Can I use the QJUTSU clay on waxed or coated paint?
Yes: the QJUTSU Clay Bar is gentle and compatible with waxes and coatings. It only needs water with shampoo as a lubricant. For heavy contamination (tar, sap), use New Pitch Cleaner first.
Do the compounds work with dual action and rotary?
Yes. The three-step system (Cutting, Polishing and Finishing Compound) is water-based and designed for rotary and DA. Each step prepares the next; on paint with light defects you can start at step two.
Which tyre dressing for which finish?
4-X spray for the wet look in seconds; Black Black and Digloss Black Devil for a strong satin finish lasting 2 months; Digloss Giraedge with a built-in applicator to keep your hands clean; Tire Black Wax for the factory matte look. The Pitaspo sponges apply any of them without sling.
Are the products really made in Japan?
Yes. All Soft99 chemicals are made at the Sanda factory, with R&D on site, and tested to Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS): adhesion, salt water and UV. The company was founded in Osaka in 1954 and launched its first wax in 1957.
Are the prices shown here the store prices?
